On the afternoon of May 8, four visitors led by US-based researcher Cheng Shaochan traveled specially from Shanghai to the Sanmen County Archives for a special seminar focusing on historical facts of the Doolittle Raid.

5月8日下午，长期旅居美国的程绍蟾女士一行4人专程从上海来到三门县档案馆，围绕“杜立特行动”开展专题交流。

Cheng has devoted more than 30 years to research on the Doolittle Raid and carried out multiple field surveys at the crash sites of relevant warplanes. As early as the 1990s, she published the article The Story Behind a Piece of Aircraft Wreckage. In 2002, her feature story The Year We Rescued American Airmen was published in China Geography. Over the years, she has taken part in numerous academic exchanges and commemorative events in the United States with surviving Doolittle Raiders and their descendants.

程绍蟾研究杜立特行动已逾30年，曾多次实地考察相关飞机坠落点。上世纪90年代，她便发表了文章《一块飞机残骸背后的故事》；2002年，又在《中国地理》杂志上刊发文章《那年，我们救了美国“大兵”》。此外，她还多次在美国与杜立特行动飞行员及后裔进行研究交流与纪念活动。

During her visit, Cheng and her entourage toured the thematic photo exhibition The Doolittle Raid and Sanmen’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression: A Record of Sanmen Military and Civilians Rescuing American Airmen During the War of Resistance, and watched the documentary short film A Record of Sanmen Military and Civilians Rescuing American Airmen. Afterwards, she had in-depth discussions on relevant historical materials and research findings with Zhang Hongxiao, a local scholar studying the Doolittle Raid in Sanmen.

当天，程绍蟾一行参观了“杜立特行动与三门抗战图片展——抗战时期三门军民营救美国飞行员纪实”展览，并观看短视频《三门军民营救美国飞行员纪实》。随后，她与三门“杜立特行动”研究者章宏晓就“杜立特行动”进行深入交流。

Apart from her in-depth research on the Doolittle Raid, Cheng has long focused on the history of Japanese aggression against China during World War II, and continuously participated in investigations and academic studies on the sufferings of China’s comfort women victims.

除杜立特行动研究外，程绍蟾还长期关注二战期间日军侵华历史，参与中国“慰安妇”问题调查与研究。
